Connect Telegram

Create a Telegram bot with your company's name in minutes, paste its token into PropDrop, and the AI agent answers everyone who messages it.

Telegram is the easiest channel after website chat: no Meta, no reviews, no 24-hour limit. You create a bot with your company's name through @BotFather, and every customer who opens it and presses Start talks to your AI agent. Telegram is available on Growth and Pro, and during the free trial.

Who can do this: owner and managers.

Steps

Create the bot

Open Telegram, message @BotFather and send /newbot.

Choose the name and username

The name customers will see (e.g. your company name), then a username ending in "bot" (e.g. NileHomesBot).

Copy the token

BotFather replies with a token like 123456789:AA…. Copy it.

Paste it into PropDrop

In Settings → Channels & integrations, switch on Telegram, paste the token into Bot token and click Connect. You'll see "Telegram bot connected".

PropDrop sets up the webhook for you. From then on every message to the bot lands in your inbox and the agent replies.

Optional: make the bot look like your company

In BotFather, set a photo and description with /setuserpic and /setdescription.

Under Bot link (share it with customers), copy the link or click Open bot. Put it in your bio or ads, or turn it into a QR code.

Good to know

  • Private chats only: groups and channels are ignored.
  • No 24-hour limit: you can reply or follow up any time.
  • Customers see "typing…" while the agent writes.
  • Photos, files and voice notes are saved in the conversation, and voice notes are transcribed so the agent understands them.
  • The token is stored encrypted and never shown again; nobody can control the bot without it.

Disconnect the bot

Click Remove credentials: the token is deleted and the bot stops delivering messages to PropDrop. Past conversations stay, and the bot itself stays on Telegram.
